Who we are
Canopy Talks (canopytalks.com) is a cannabis education brand run by Verdant Canopy, a Minnesota business. Canopy Talks content is created by Shawn Hepper, an independent cannabis educator and researcher. When these terms say "we" or "us," they mean Verdant Canopy. By using this site or buying our products, you agree to these terms.
You must be 21 or older
Canopy Talks is for adults 21 and older. By using this site, you confirm that you are at least 21.
Education only, not medical or legal advice
Everything on this site and in our guides is for general education. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and it is not legal advice. Using our materials does not create a doctor and patient relationship or any other professional relationship.
- Talk with a licensed clinician before using cannabis for any health purpose, especially if you take medications, are pregnant or nursing, or have a health condition.
- Cannabis laws differ by state and country and change often. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws where you live.
- We do not sell cannabis or cannabis products, and we don't recommend specific products or doses for you.
Buying Foundations
Foundations is a digital PDF guide, currently $15 USD. It is sold through Gumroad, which is the merchant of record. That means Gumroad processes your payment, collects any sales tax, and issues your receipt. Gumroad's own terms also apply to your purchase. Prices may change, but a change never affects an order you've already placed.
All sales are final. If you have a problem with your purchase, email help@canopytalks.com. See our refund policy.
How you can use the guide
When you buy Foundations, you get a personal license to read it and keep it for your own use. You're welcome to:
- Read it on any of your own devices and print a copy for yourself
- Quote short passages with credit to Canopy Talks
Please don't:
- Share, upload, or post the file for others to download
- Resell it or include it in another product or course
- Copy large portions or the original diagrams without permission

Who owns the content
The text, diagrams, and design on this site and in our guides belong to Verdant Canopy unless we say otherwise. Material from other sources is credited and belongs to its owners.
Accuracy
We work hard to get things right and to show how strong the evidence is behind each claim. Still, cannabis research moves quickly and we can't promise every detail is complete or current. Our materials are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Verdant Canopy is not liable for indirect or consequential damages from your use of this site or our materials. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product involved. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Links to other sites
We may link to research, Gumroad, or other sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or policies.
Minnesota law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date.
