Who we are

Canopy Talks (canopytalks.com) is a cannabis education brand run by Verdant Canopy, a Minnesota business. When this page says "we" or "us," it means Verdant Canopy. Questions about your information go to help@canopytalks.com.

We try to collect as little as we can. Here is what we collect and why.

What we collect

• Email sign-ups. If you join our list, our email provider, Beehiiv, collects your email address and the date you signed up. Like most email services, Beehiiv may also record basic details such as your IP address and whether you open or click our emails. Beehiiv's own privacy policy covers what it collects.
• Purchases. Foundations is sold through Gumroad. Gumroad takes your payment and handles sales tax. Gumroad shares your name, email address, and order details with us so we can support your purchase. We never see your full card number.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and our reply so we can help you.
• Basic technical data. Like most websites, our host may log things like your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We use this only to keep the site running and secure.
• The free dose log. We don't collect it. The dose log keeps a working copy of your entries in your browser's local storage, on your device only. It is never sent to us or anyone else. It stays there until you delete the entries or clear your browser data, so anyone who uses the same browser could see it. If you save your log file to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or another service, that service's own privacy terms apply to the file.
• Your age check. We don't collect it. When you confirm you are 21 or older, the site saves that choice and the date in your browser's local storage, on your device only, so it doesn't ask again. It is never sent to us or anyone else. It stays there until you clear your browser data.

How we use it

• To deliver what you bought and help if something goes wrong
• To send the emails you asked for, like release notes for new guides
• To answer your questions
• To keep basic business and tax records

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for other companies' advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with services that help us run Canopy Talks, and only what they need:

• Gumroad, which processes orders and payments. Gumroad's own privacy policy covers what it collects at checkout.
• Beehiiv, our email provider, which runs the sign-up form, stores the list, and sends our emails.
• Cloudflare, our website host, which serves these pages.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or if Verdant Canopy is ever sold or reorganized. If that happens, this policy still applies to what we already have.

Cookies

This site does not set its own cookies. The Beehiiv sign-up form on the home and Foundations pages, and Gumroad's checkout, may use cookies. Those are covered by Beehiiv's and Gumroad's own policies.

Emails and unsubscribing

We only email about Canopy Talks education products. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email help@canopytalks.com and we'll take you off the list.

Please don't send us health details

Canopy Talks is education, not a health care service. We are not your doctor, and email with us is not protected the way medical records are. Please don't send diagnoses, medications, or other private health information. If you do, we'll use it only to reply and won't keep it longer than we need to.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep order records as long as we need them for tax and business purposes. We delete other information when we no longer need it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we have about you, fix it, or delete it. Email help@canopytalks.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Some records, like order history, we may need to keep for tax reasons. For anything Gumroad holds, you can also contact Gumroad directly.

Age

Canopy Talks is for adults 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you think someone under 21 has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date. If the change is significant, we'll tell people on our email list.
